Capacity Strengthening of Multi-Actors to Limit Climate Change Impacts and Enhance Resilience (CAP-RES)

CAP-RES aims to enhance institutional capacities at local, national, and regional levels by focusing on education, climate action, and partnerships. The project addresses challenges such as limited capacity among government officials and civil society organisations, top-down decision-making approaches, structural inequalities, and lack of inter-ministerial coordination. By leveraging ICCCAD’s expertise, CAP-RES seeks to fill knowledge gaps, capacitate multi-actors, and promote locally-led climate action. The project is set to unfold over a span of 48 months, commencing from January 1, 2023, to December 31, 2026. The project has been endowed with a total budget of 12 million SEK (Swedish Kronor), equivalent to 120 million BDT (Bangladeshi Taka). The gracious funding for this initiative is provided by the Embassy of Sweden. This strategic collaboration and financial support signify a significant partnership aimed at fostering positive developments and achieving the envisioned goals of the project.

Five-Axis Transformation via CAP-RES

Capacity Building / Technical Assistance: CAP-RES offers capacity-building opportunities for students, young researchers, and local communities. This includes mentorship, training, and internships, aiming to enhance knowledge and skills in climate change adaptation and resilience.

Technology / Machinery: While the project focuses primarily on capacity building and education, it indirectly supports the adoption of climate-resilient technologies by empowering individuals and institutions with the knowledge to implement such solutions.

Finance: The project provides financial support through research grants and innovation funds, enabling youth-led and club-based initiatives that contribute to climate resilience and sustainable development.

Policy: CAP-RES engages policymakers at local, national, and international levels through events associated with the Conference of the Parties (COP). This advocacy aims to influence climate policies and promote locally-led adaptation practices.
