Oporajita: Just Transition for Women in the RMG Ecosystem

Oporajita phase two is a continuation of phase one, which is a multi-stakeholder initiative designed to equip women apparel workers in Bangladesh with the capabilities needed to navigate an industry undergoing rapid transformation. As automation, digitalisation, circularity, decarbonisation, geopolitical shifts and the country’s LDC graduation reshape employment dynamics, the initiative focuses on safeguarding women workers’ livelihoods, agency and overall wellbeing. The programme adopts a holistic approach that combines skills development, social support and systems-level engagement to strengthen resilience among women workers and amplify their voice within the sector.
